Healthy Matcha Jelly

This healthy recipe, as a snack or dessert, has its roots in Asian tradition. It is a tasty dish and when topped with a macaroon garnish, a treat for both the eyes and palate.

  Total Time: 45 Min 

  Yield: Serves 4


  • 50 cc water
  • 250 cc soy milk
  • 2 tsp Cape Crystal agar agar
  • 1 tsp matcha powder
  • 30 g sugar
  •  Optional macaroon garnish

How to Make It:

Step 1:


Heat water in a small pot. Once boiled, add matcha powder and mix well to avoid lumps on low heat.

Step 2:

Add agar agar and mix well.

Step 3:

Pour the agar agar mixture into a  bowl, and allow it to cool off to room temperature.

Step 4:


Cool in fridge until firm.

Step 5:


Flip the bowl over onto a serving plate. Then top with a macaroon and a shaved chocolate strip or just with whipped cream if desired before serving.
